Meet Sandy Marchky from Stewart Richardson’s Indianapolis Office
We are happy to welcome Sandy Marchky to our excellent roster of court reporters at Stewart Richardson. Sandy joined us in August with a strong background in court reporting and captioning, and has become a reliable resource in providing deposition services for our clients. We recently chatted with Sandy about her move to Indianapolis and her experience as a court reporter and captioner. Here’s what we learned!
Can you tell us a little bit about your background?
I’ve worked the gamut of my profession, serving as an official reporter in a small county courthouse in Pennsylvania; as a freelance reporter in Pittsburgh, Detroit, Evansville, Boston, Memphis and Indianapolis; and as a captioner. While captioning, I was on-air for a major television network during 9/11. I attended Business School and hold a Diploma of Court Reporting.
Is there an area of court reporting you specialize in?
My professional focus and expertise lies in realtime reporting and medical/technical testimony.
Do you belong to any professional or industry groups?
I am a long-standing member of the National Court Reporters Association. I also hold certifications as a Registered Professional Reporter (RPR), Registered Merit Reporter (RMR), and Certified Realtime Reporter (CRR).
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I enjoy traveling, cooking, skiing, and music, but most of all spending time with my boys, husband, and pups!
How would you describe your work style?
I always arrive at least 20 minutes early for my depos! I love a challenging deposition, and I pride myself on the accuracy of my reporting.
What is something people may not know about you?
One thing I bet you don’t know about me….I was born in a foreign country. Guess which one! I’m also the only female in my family amongst six males (one husband, three sons, and two furry sons!)
What do you find most interesting about being a court reporter?
I love my job because it is something different every day…I get to meet new people, go to different locations, hear different cases, and learn new things. I also enjoy the flexibility in my schedule and being able to work from home at times.
What do you like most about working with Stewart Richardson?
I knew when I met Tom Richardson, that Stewart Richardson was the right fit for me. And I was right! Tom and his staff are the utmost professionals. They are accommodating to both the client and the reporter. Plus, we have an awesome office downtown. I am proud to represent SR and be a part of this great team.
What three terms would you use to describe Stewart Richardson?
Top-notch. Client-focused. Well-established.
