NNRC Green Requirements
Stewart Richardson is taking the following steps recommended by the NNRC to create an office that is enviromentally friendly. To receive their official NNRC Green Commission Certification, Midwest is required to do thirteen of the following seventeen steps.
• Be committed to promote the use of paperless transcripts.
• Use recycled paper (minimum of 30% required with 50% preferred.)
• Make two-sided printing and copying a standard practice in your business (set all computers to print double-sided default) and make single-sided printing the exception instead of the rule, including, where practical, transcript production.
• Must have a recycle bin in the office for recyclable products.
• Use electronic memos and email in place of paper internally and only print when absolutely necessary.
• Turn off all non-essential computers and monitors at night.
• Use e-waste removal programs for any and all electronic and computer equipment disposal.
• Purchase energy star efficient rated office equipment and appliances.
• Minimize the use of bottled water in offices and use glasses and dishes rather than plastic or paper.
• Use 50% post-consumer paper towels.
• Use recycled paper for letterheads and business cards and other printed and promotional materials.
• Use email for invoices and statements.
• Incorporate power saving features on all desktop computers.
